This year things are much different. Our neighborhood is very much realizing how much we need water and that it is much more important than all that other stuff like electricity and light. Yes I know that is just as important. So for all of us affected (part of Jersey City and Hoboken, NJ) we will be super thankful once that water will return to our pipes, shower and toilette. Lets see if we can get it back by Thanksgiving day. For now we all haven’t taken a shower in two days and have a brown water filled bathtub so we at least can use the bathroom. This is for all of us living on anything higher than the 4th floor as the water pressure isn’t strong enough.
This all started with a broken water main, and now there is that other thing a failure in a valve that regulates water flow between Jersey City and the source of Hoboken’s water.
The best joke was however, when we were advise to do the following
Residents should continue to boil their water for one minute for consumptive purposes. This includes drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, etc. Water does not need to be boiled for washing clothes or dishes. It is important that residents continue to boil water until further notice. as per Hoboken NJ
The funny thing about that statement, there was no water to speak of
Forecast for Thanksgiving dinner will therefore be a bunch of smelly people sitting around a big table eating turkey with plastic utensils. Or you could just invite yourself to someone that has water, maybe even warm water 😉
Lets hope for the best and I know some of us are lucky and are allowed to use the shower at a gym or friends place. Thank you guys for helping out.
