Daddy’s old pants into two new P J pants

Daddy has a tendency to rip his cloth somehow or it might just have been the laundry machine that caused the damage. So I could fix the hole in his pants or instead have fun with it and turn the fabric into something new. This time I turned his old P J pants into one pair of P J shorts for me and one for our little girl.

Who said girls can’t wear blue 😉

I used the following patterns to make the shorts:

How to Make Baby Pants from T-shirt

For the toddler pants she is recommending a T-shirt, but you can also use the legs of daddy’s P J pants. I am a big fan of the TheCraftyGemini, she teaches you how you can easily make easy beginners project. You should definitely check her out.

Have fun sewing!

Steinwidder remade Fashion

I attended a presentation at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology  (Refashioned: Cutting-Edge Clothing From Upcycled Materials ; a Book by Sass Brown, get the book on Amazon)  and one of the designers Sass Brown spoke about is Steinwidder . I love her designs and ideas reusing one of my least favorite pieces of cloth -socks that is-; turning them into something great.

Also don’t we all have those lonely socks lying around where weSteinwidder, sock pullover, bild_3_gr w can’t seem to find the matching one. My pile of lonely socks would probably be a bit more colorful, therefore the sweater would look really funny. I will keep collecting and lets see what I will come up with, this looks like a project that would take some time.

Thredup Fan!! Like-new cloth from brands you love

As mentioned earlier, I am a THredUp fan and I can only repeat myself. I really love their concept of selling your stuff (cleaning out your closet for that matter) and you being able to buy awesome cloth at a great rate. Speaking of which I now decided to always have a clean out bag at home so that whenever I feel like organizing my closet I can just go crazy about it and not have to wait (usually 2-3 days) for them to send me the prepaid clean out bag.
